So lately I've been going on a lot of hikes. This is extreme muddy hike #3. My shoes have been completely annihilated. It's awesome.

This is my barley, grape tomato, and arugula saute that I made the other day. Yeah. I'm that fancy. And also, it was the best tasting thing I have ever cooked. I loved it that much.

In honor of the first day of spring, I decided to go on a quest to get an awesome sunset picture. I mean, I had to spend at least a little bit of time outside since it was the first day of spring and all and the foot of snow from the day before was all melted. But aren't these the coolest looking clouds you've ever seen?

 

These last 2 pics are from my first day of spring sunset pictures. It took me a while to find a good spot that didn't have power lines in the way. Good adventure.

The next pictures are from #2 day of spring. I decided I liked being outside so much that I literally wandered the streets of the town for hours and I discovered a nature park that I never would have known of its existence otherwise, it's all tucked away in a little corner of the world, and it had this gorgeous view.

I call these "moss on logs in park" ha. I was having fun playing with my camera. I'm pretty sure that my white balance lens cap is my favorite thing I bought for my camera, especially since I never want to go back and edit my photos, and once I start using my wb lens cap it always makes my pics look even cooler. Maybe one day I'll be fancy and get into all sorts of fancy photography learning, but for now, I just love to take way too many pictures of everything.

BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Cards. Once aupon a time my friends decided to have a craft night. I do not just have craft projects on hand so I went to my cousin who makes cards and asked her to give me some tips and ideas. Instead I came home with tips, ideas, and stuff! She was so nice and has let me borrow/use lots of her stuff and oh my heck. I believe she has created a monster. Making cards is so fun! I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep these all for a long time, we'll see if I can ever part with them. The pictures are out of order. They were not cooperating and I'm not really feeling patient right now.

 

7th. My dad broke his spatula (scapula) when he hit an ice patch skiing at a super steep part... I might actually even be able to part with this one and give it to him.

2nd one. My friends helped me decide how to set it up. We took votes. ha. I don't think we actually did, but it wouldn't surprise me if we had.

4th.

5th. I made this one (as you can probably tell) from the practice pieces I used for the 4th one.

3rd. I sewed the paper heart! Took a long time, but it was fun.

6th. I'm slightly impressed with myself on this one. I love it.

My first one! It took me forever.

 It finally snowed and I was so excited to go snowshoeing! I haven't been yet this season. It was so pretty. Absolutely perfect weather and absolutely perfect, powdery snow!

Christmas Break

So..... having my sister home for Christmas break is fun for a couple of reasons. One of them is purely the entertainment factor. For instance, the other day my dad read a joke to us. It was a political joke and made some mention of Republicans. My sister did not laugh. She looked at my dad and with a dead serious, straight face she responded with, "I don't get politics, all that Republican and Dominican stuff." Better yet, she didn't get why we all started laughing at her.

Another funny story.... the other day my dad told us about a conference he had attended and he told us this story from it:  So this guy's friend comes home from work super ornery. Finally his wife tells him he's really crabby and they don't really want to be around him so she sends him to his office. He's in there working for bit when he hears his 3 or 4 year old son outside the door yelling, "Dad! Can I come in??? I need to tell you something!"
"No! I'm ornery."

"Dad please!"

"Fine."

So his son, who has a snot-bubbling cold running all down his face, comes in the room, grabs his dad's head between his hands, sticks out his tongue and licks one eye and then the other. He says "I love you daddy" and runs out of the room. 

Staring dumbly after his son the man hears his wife saying,
"No, I said look him in the eye!"

He said that pretty much cured him of his orneriness for the rest of the day! 

ahahahahaha

I'm in the mood for laughing, can you tell?

I don't know why it tickled my fancy so much but when I watched it the first time I just about died.

I got a tripod for my camera today so now I can take ghost pictures! It never gets old.

Reminiscing

Can I just say how MUCH I love this picture????  That was one of the best trips I have ever been on, so fun. I remember feeling like such a grown up, going on a trip all by ourselves. Boy was I wrong :)! I think... well... let's just say, we did not act grown up on this trip. The end.
